Important Dates

Deadline Dates

  • December 1 –Scholarship Application Deadline for entering freshmen.   The application must be postmarked December 1 or before. The scholarship application is found in your MU admissions application packet or can be filed on the web by using the Online Scholarship Application.
  • January 1 – You may begin submitting the current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal FAFSA.  We recommend completing it online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  If you have not completed your income taxes, you can estimate and correct the information later. The FAFSA asks for our Federal School Code which is 002516.
  • February 1 – Scholarship Application Deadline for continuing and transfer students.  The application must be postmarked February 1 or before. The scholarship application is found in your MU admissions application packet or can be filed on the web by using the Online Scholarship Application.
  • February 15 – You should receive Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Federal processor.  Check it over to make sure it is correct and complete.  Your FAFSA must be ERROR FREE to be considered on time.  You may make corrections online through the FAFSA on the Web home page or on the paper SAR and return it to the FAFSA processor.
  • March 1 – Mizzou’s priority deadline for completing the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA.    Your FAFSA must be ERROR FREE to be considered on time.  You may check the status of a submitted FAFSA by returning to the FAFSA on the Web home page and selecting “Check Status of submitted FAFSA” under Step 3 or by calling the federal processor at 1-800-4-FED-AID.
  • April 1 – the State of Missouri’s FAFSA priority deadline for need-based aid.  If you met Mizzou’s deadline, then you have met this deadline.
  • Mid-April – Award notifications are sent to incoming freshmen.  You will need to logon to myZou to accept and/or decline your awards.
  • May - Submit copies of current year federal tax return(s) and other forms if requested by the MU Student Financial Aid Office. The federal government requires verification of randomly selected applications.
  • Mid-June - Award notifications are sent to continuing and transfer students via email.  You will need to logon to myZou to accept and/or decline your awards.
